storage monitoring

Geological storage of GHG is a multi-dimensional task, in which not only the geology of the storage rock has to be taken into account but also the chemistry of injected fluids. High quantities of CO2, SOx and NOX injected into geological formations will react with other fluids, minerals and micro-organisms in the underground environment. We will investigate the main targets for geological GHG storage, i.e. saline aquifers, depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs, basic/ultrabasic formations, and study well and reservoir injectivity.
